SINGER/SONGWRITING MASTERCLASS WITH SURIE

Sun 8 December 2019 10.30am

Broadway Theatre, Barking

This FREE workshop will offer advice and guidance to fledgling songwriters who want to learn more about the art of songwriting and lyric making.  This is a practical and interactive session swapping ideas and working on lyrics with SuRie and other participants.

SuRie is probably best known for performing the UK Eurovision Song Contest entry "Storm" in 2018 but with classical roots in piano, voice and oboe, SuRie's musical career started early as a child soloist. A graduate of The Royal Academy of Music, she started writing songs when she was just 12 years old. SuRie has held residencies in Jazz lounges throughout London and performed backing vocals for artists like Chris Martin and Will Young.

SuRie is a prolific singer/songwriter and has prior Eurovision experience as she was a backing vocalist and dancer for Loïc Nottet at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna, Austria, representing Belgium with Rhythm Inside. She returned two years later as Musical Director for Blanche’s City Lights in Kyiv, Ukraine last year. Both entries came fourth in their respective finals.
